Book It! Frequently Asked Questions

Book It! Base Game FAQs

Q: If two players (Or more) select Lucha Libre, does that mean that all Lucha Libre wrestlers cost two (Or more) for everyone else?

A: No, The ability does not stack. Lucha Libre wrestlers will cost one more for everyone who isn’t playing as a Lucha Libre promotion. Those who are playing as a Lucha Libre promotion will get to sign Lucha Libre wrestlers for their printed cost.

Q: When someone played 45 Minute Promo, what happens to the wrestlers in the match that I removed from my show?

A: The wrestlers in the match removed from your show are returned to your hand.

Q: If I’m in negative reputation, do I have to pay anything during the reputation collection part of the Ticket Sales Phase?

A: No. You can never collect less than zero from your reputation during Ticket Sales

Q: If someone played missed flight on one of my wrestlers and I don’t have any cards in my hand, what happens?

A: First off, if you have no cards in your hand, but there are cards currently in your roster, you should have drawn two during the Booking phase, do so now. If you have no cards in your roster OR your hand, and someone plays a missed flight on a wrestler. You have no one to replace that wrestler with, and therefore must remove the match from your show (This is why it’s a good idea to have at least one extra wrestler on your roster – just in case!) The wrestler targeted by Missed Flight gets returned to your roster, and the other wrestler on the dissolved match gets returned to your hand.

Q: If someone played Lack of Advertising on my promotion, do I still get to draw four cards when I book a match featuring two wrestles as the same style as my promotion?

A: No. When someone targets you with Lack of Advertising, your promotion is completely blank. It has no name, no style, no text, nothing. You will still get to draw two cards from them being generally familiar, but not four.

Q: If someone plays Bad Crowd on a Hybrid promotion, do they still get to draw four cards if they book a match featuring two wrestlers with different styles?

A: Yes. The card drawing ability from Hybrid is an ability of the promotion itself, and not from Synergy. However, if someone played Lack of Advertising on a Hybrid promotion, they would lose this ability.

Q: If someone has their venue change due to Double Booked, and they are targeted with a second Double Booked, can they change back to their original venue?

A: No. Their original venue is considered to be a “played” venue, because it was in play at one point during the turn. Venues that are removed from play due to Double Booked are set aside and not eligible for the original player or anyone else to select if a second Double Booked it played.

Book It! Gorilla Expansion FAQs

Q: What happens if I play Change of Plans as the third special announcement to fulfill the “Gimmick Master” Production card?

A: As soon as you play your third Special Announcement of your turn, the Production goal is met, at which point you immediately choose a new Production card. Following your choosing your new Production card, the effect of Change of Plans resolves and you would discard the production card you just chose, draw two new Production cards, choose one and shuffle the other back into the Production deck.

Q: How do the Production Cards “Boys’ Club” and “Shimmer and Shine” interact with Local Wrestlers?

A: Local Wrestlers are considered to have no gender and thus do not count towards the goal of either Boys Club or Shimmer and Shine

Q: The Wrestlers in the “Tag Team & Title Belts” expansion don’t have gender icons. How do they interact with “Boys’ Club” and “Shimmer and Shine”?

A: The concept of the gender icons felt progressively more and more outdated as we went along with production of the game, and as such we phased them out starting with TT&TB. If you’re playing with the TT&TB expansion, it is recommended that you remove Boys’ Club and Shimmer and Shine from the Production deck. You’re welcome to “house rule” the gender icons for the new wrestlers going forward if you like.

Book It! Tag Teams & Title Belts FAQs

Q: Are the new Promotion cards meant to replace the promotion cards for the base, or are they meant to be used with them?

A: The new Promotion cards are meant to be played with the original Promotion cards from the base game. Each player should now have two different versions of each Promotion to choose from, adding to the variety of the games. If you’re new to Book It we would recommend playing a few games with just the Promotion cards from the base game first, as the Promotion cards from TT&TB are more advanced.

Q: If I have booked a champion from someone else’s promotion on my show, can I re-sign that champion during the Champions’ Phase?

A: You can only re-sign champions from your promotion during the Champions’ Phase. If you want to re-sign another promotion’s champion during the Champions’ Phase, you will need to put one of your titles on that wrestler (good move!)

Q: If I have three champions signed and draw a starting hand of three local wrestlers during the Booking phase, do I need to book them against my Champions before I can draw extra cards?

A: You can only draw cards when you book a match with two wrestlers with the Familiar synergy (the same style), or when your hand is empty. Since Champions are considered to be in your hand, you can only draw more cards after they are all booked and your hand is empty, meaning that you would need to book your Champions against the local wrestlers in order to draw additional cards.

Q: Do tag team wrestlers with 4 Workrate or greater count for Pre-Show Seminar?

A: Yup!

Q: When booking a singles wrestler against a tag team wrestler, which wrestler gets the singles penalty? In the rules sheet it says the tag wrestler gets the penalty and on the expansion board it says the singles wrestler gets the penalty.

A: There was an error in printing the expansion board. The rules sheet is correct, the tag team is given the singles penalty when they are booked against a singles wrestler.

Q: The title belt tokens in my TT&TB expansion don’t match the player tokens in my version of Book It. I have a purple player token and green title belts. What gives?

A: The original printings of Book It featured a green player token. In later printings the token was changed to purple. When we did the title belt designs for the tokens in TT&TB, we started with a purple belt (which you’ll see on the box design) but then changed to green before production to be consistent with the original prints. We understand this is annoying, and we’re sorry that everything may not match up, but we didn’t think that we would ever print sets with additional tokens when we made the change in the base. Sorry 🙁

Q: If I’m booking a show at Jeddah and I draw an opening hand with 4 local wrestlers and 2 independent wrestlers who don’t have the Familiar synergy, am I stuck with only one match on my show, or is there a way to draw more cards?

A: You’re stuck with one match on your show, we’re afraid. That’s the price you pay for the reward.
